Stylomine (Paris, France). Originally, the Y.E. Zuber works specialised in metal cutting and stamping and produced, among other things, nibs, clips and mechanical pencils. It was for the latter that the Stylomine trademark was registered in 1921. Pen manufacture began in 1925 and, in 1930, the 303 appeared, which enjoyed immediate and well-deserved success. Its filling system, using an air tube and a rubber bulb, is remarkable. The retractable-nib model is one of the few examples of a self-filling pen. In 1934 the company became the S.A. des Établissements Stylomine. Then came the tube and accordion-sac system, one of the most ingenious ever devised, which, once it had fallen into the public domain, was copied by most French manufacturers.
