La Plume d'Or (Paris / Nanterre, France). Name adopted in 1921 by a company founded in 1916 as the Manufacture Parisienne de P.P.R. Le Météore brand. Other pens: Zodiac, Prompto (1922), Pullman
(1932). It was also one of the largest European makers of gold nibs for fountain pens.
First in Paris, at 63, rue des Archives, then at 48, rue des Vinaigriers, the workshops finally settled in Nanterre, at 26-30, rue des Amandiers. Nibs marked D&D, the initials of the founders, Demilly and Degen. During the Second World War, gold nibs were replaced by stainless steel nibs marked Vaedium. The firm ceased trading in 1956.
